🏛️ Museums

In London, “world-class” doesn’t have to mean “expensive.” Most of our best museums are free—Zero! Zilch!

🚀 Science South Kensington £

This doesn’t feel like a kids’ kindergarten. It has an IMAX, three stories of history, and a giant Foucault’s pendulum. From space capsules to vintage planes, you can get lost in here for hours. Estimate: Free entry (Booking a timed slot online is required).

🏛️ History Bloomsbury £

It’s iconic for a reason. It has incredible Roman statues and a giant, beautiful glass-roofed Great Court in the middle. Pro Tip: It’s massive, so pick one or two specific wings (like Ancient Egypt or Greece) to avoid getting overwhelmed. Estimate: Free entry (Booking ahead is highly recommended).

🎨 Art Trafalgar Sq £

Located in Trafalgar Square, this is where you go to see the “stern faces” of folks from the medieval period and world-famous masterpieces by Van Gogh and Da Vinci. The vibe: Grand, silent, and perfect for art lovers. Estimate: Free entry.

đź‘— Design South Kensington ÂŁ

The ultimate destination for incredible design, fashion history, and architecture. Pro Tip: Don’t miss the jewelry gallery or the stunning Cast Courts—and the museum cafe is widely considered the most beautiful in London. Estimate: Free entry.

🎬 Movie Magic Watford £££

It’s only a 20-minute train ride from Euston. You get to explore the magic of Hogwarts, see how the special effects were made, and even ride the Hogwarts Express. The vibe: It’s brilliant, but it is a full-day commitment. Estimate: £55+ per person. Note: You usually need to book months in advance.

đźš‚ Landmark King's Cross ÂŁ

If you don’t want to go to Watford, there is the shop and the platform photo-op at King’s Cross station. Warning: It is always surrounded by hoards of tourists! If you want a photo with the trolley, expect a long queue. Estimate: Free to visit (Shop prices vary).
